Aero.com, a new Internet computer aviation information service, is now online on the World Wide Web. According to Therese Holliday, General Manager of Aero.com, this service will allow aviation enthusiasts access to a vast array of facts, publications, products and graphics, and it provides a single resource for every topic related to aeronautics.
"Our service directs users to contact USUA, and includes Internet servers covering ultralights, plus we sell books by Dennis Pagen via an electronic mail-order catalog" Holliday says. "Users are able to link directly to news groups covering the topic of ultralights."
"Contact listings on educational institutions, museums and organizations, plus dated worldwide events are among other numerous offerings on Aero.com Aviation art and photos, classifieds and links to every computer aviation news group are also available on the service. Aero.com even links you to worldwide servers, allowing users to land at alternate destinations like NASA and Embry Riddle Aeronautical University."
All Internet users can navigate through Aero.com's web pages at no charge an d obtain contact names and addresses, and phone and fax numbers. Registered Aero.com users can access detailed listing information and shop for aviation publications and software. Registration is free, and the data provided by the user upon registering guides future offerings on Aero.com. Value added service subscription levels and rates will be announced at a later date.
"One unique feature to Aero.com is online shopping for over 500 publications and software titles," Holliday notes. "Registered users can also purchase subscriptions to magazines with a special page designed for placing orders and entering payment information without leaving the service. This feature eliminates requesting and accumulation of numerous catalogs, plus time spent on the phone."
"No one has the focus on aviation that we have" adds Blake Holliday, co-founder and Technical Manager. "I looked at a lot of servers on the Web, and felt they lacked focus and appeal. You have to provide interesting and useful contents that will make people want to use your services again and again. I believe Aero.com does that."
