Where to Stay

Napa Lodging
Solage Resort & Spa
With a 20,000-square-foot spa inspired by Calistoga’s natural hot springs, this laid-back, modern, and family-friendly retreat makes a great base for experiencing the best of Napa Valley. Cruise downtown on complimentary bicycles, take a yoga class, or hunker down in your secluded suite and soak in a private outdoor hot tub for two.
Bardessono Hotel & Spa
For its accessible location just off Yountville’s main street, Bardessono feels remarkably secluded. With 62 suites across five acres, each space is designed as a “personal sanctuary.” The hotel’s new Maple Grove Villas are perfect for families—divisible by three, they may be enjoyed individually or as a one, three-bedroom retreat. Relax with a decadent in-room facial or massage treatment, or take a short walk to Bouchon, Thomas Keller’s casual French bistro.
Yount Retreat
Perched atop a sheer hillside overlooking Napa Valley, this Guest property unfolds over two floors, with four bedrooms, a hot tub, fire pit, and an outdoor kitchen and dining area. Families and large groups will love the media and games room on the second floor, so long as they’re able to focus on anything but the incredible vineyard vistas.

Essential Experiences

Essential Experiences

Napa Hot Air Balloon
Winery tours
From rustic to stately to strikingly modern, the architecture of Napa Valley’s wineries is as diverse as the region’s exceptional assortment of vintages. In fact, you may want to forgo the sun-kissed vineyards to spend a day deep underground in one of the region’s immaculate wine caves, which double as optimal tasting venues.
Michelin-starred dining
Napa Valley has no shortage of Michelin-rated restaurants. Experience peak farm-to-table perfection at three-Michelin-starred SingleThread, sip craft cocktails around a 20-foot fire pit at one-Michelin-starred Solbar, or savor exquisite Kaiseki delicacies at one-Michelin starred Kenzo Napa, where ingredients are flown in daily from Japan. For a more laid-back culinary experience, head to Oxbow Public Market in downtown Napa. The sprawling market, boasts a smorgasbord of dining choices and curated tasting events, is basically heaven for foodies.
Hot-air ballooning
Soar above Napa Valley’s verdant pastures and rolling vineyards with an exhilarating hot-air balloon ride at sunrise. Napa Valley Balloons offers private flights for two (plus your pilot) that include a celebratory sparkling wine toast upon your return to terra firma. During your flight, try to spot all of the wineries you visited. Packages include round-trip transportation from most Napa Valley hotels.
Sports and wellness
Unwinding from city life may take more than a glass or two of wine. As a protected Agricultural Preserve, Napa Valley offers 53,000 acres of open space for hiking and exploring. If swinging a golf club is more your thing, tee up at Silverado Resort’s championship course, redesigned by PGA Hall-of-Famer Johnny Miller, and then stay for a treatment at the resort’s expansive spa. Other noteworthy spas can be found at Solage, Bardessono, and Carneros resorts.
