General Pet Travel Guidelines:
Small Pets Weighing Less than 20 lbs:
Small pets must be booked at the time of booking and can be included in the reservation directly on the website for a fee per one-way. Small cats or dogs weighing 20 lbs or less (inc. carrier) can travel in a carrier that must measure less than 20”x12”x9” (L x W x H). Guests are responsible for providing a carrier for their pet and this carrier will count as their personal item.
On Aero "Select" flights, pet carriers must fit comfortably underneath the seat in front of you, and remain in an approved carrier for the duration of the flight. Pet carriers are not allowed on aircraft seats, unless a seat has been purchased for the pet.
On Aero "Latitude" flights, pet carriers must be secured to the divan or occupy an empty seat.
Large Dogs Weighing > 20 lbs, Occupying a Full-Price Seat:
For medium or large pets over 20 lbs, you must purchase an additional full-price seat either online or via our Concierge team. There is no maximum weight limit for large pets however you must ensure they can remain in their seat for the duration of the flight, and they may not impede or obstruct the aisles.
Additional Information for Pet Travel:
• The maximum number of pets per jet varies by aircraft type. In most cases, there is a maximum of 2 Large dogs occupying full price seats
• One adult may bring 1 pet (small in carrier under seat, or Large Dog occupying its own seat)
• One family can bring two, but there must be one adult per pet
• One guest may not carry both a pet and an infant without the assistance of a travel companion
• Guests traveling with pets cannot be seated in exit rows
• Pets must be at least 4 months old, and be capable of not relieving themselves for the entire duration of the flight
• Animals besides cats and dogs are not able to travel
• We do not carry pets in our cargo hold
To ensure the safety of all pets, guests, and employees, pets must be securely leashed at all times. This includes all areas inside and outside the private terminal such as parking lots, on the tarmac, and while traveling to and from the jet.
During taxi, take off, and landing, small pets (under 20 lbs) must remain in their carrier. Large pets must remain on a leash throughout the duration of the flight and may not impede or obstruct the aisles.

Trained service dogs are welcome on board all of our jets (free of charge); a fully trained service animal is individually trained to perform a task(s) or work for a person with a physical and/or mental disability. Only dogs will be accepted as service animals. If an animal does not qualify as a service animal, it may be eligible to fly as a pet under our pet policy, which are subject to a pet care charge and size limitations. Please note: therapy or emotional support animals which are not trained to perform a specific task related to a disability, do not qualify as trained service animals.
Guests traveling with service animals must complete this Department of Transportation Service Animal Air Transportation form and submit to our Concierge in advance via email (send to concierge@aero.com). An ID card, harness or registration will not be accepted in place of the form as sole indication an animal is a trained service animal.
On our ERJ-135 aircraft, service animals must remain on the floor throughout the flight and must never be in or blocking the aisle.
On our business-style jets (Legacy 600 and Gulfstream IV) most service animals must occupy their own seat for safety reasons. While there is no charge for traveling with a service animal, we do need to charge the standard fare for the seat it occupies.

Your pet can join you anywhere we fly—New York City, Miami, Sun Valley, Aspen, Los Cabos, and East Hampton, all from private terminals.
Please let our Concierge team know if you have a concern about flying with pets, due to allergies or other reasons. While pets are welcome on board at Aero, the safety and comfort of our guests are paramount.
If there is a pet on your flight that is causing concern, our team will seat you as far from the animal as possible, or we will be happy to book you on an alternative date.
Arriving in Mexico:
SENASICA (Mexican National Service for Agrifood Health, Safety, and Quality) requires the following information for all guests arriving in Mexico with a pet or service animal:
CZI Application (Solicitud de CZI): Completed form, printed, and brought with you on the day of travel. This form will be reviewed and partially completed by SENASICA officials upon arrival in Mexico.
Valid Health Certificate from a licensed veterinarian in the country of origin, including:
• Confirmation of good health and absence of infectious diseases
• Proof of rabies vaccination (date and validity)
• Proof of ownership or travel authorization (if not the owner, a signed letter or document with the owner’s name is acceptable)
Owner Identification: Passport or a copy if you are not traveling SENASICA (Mexican National Service for Agrifood Health, Safety, and Quality) requires the following information for all guests arriving in Mexico with a pet or service animal:
Departing Mexico to the US:
As of August 1, 2024 all dogs and service animals entering the US must have a reciept for a completed CDC Import form. In addition dogs must:
• Appear healthy upon arrival
• Be at least 6 months old at the time of entry or return to the U.S.
• Have a microchip that can be detected with a universal scanner to identify them.
